Nepal!!!!

So we never ended up going to Malaysia, but a package trip to Nepal was arranged...my sister and I went with my dad's sisters and it was loads of fun. We shopped like mad, saw the sights, and enjoyed the 5-star hotel that came with the package. Shopping was awesome, and we enjoyed the sad fact that the Nepali rupee is weaker than the Bangladesh taka. The temples were quite nice, too. The Annapurna range from atop a hill in Nagarkot was beyond belief, but the view from the plane (second insert) on the return journey of the entire Himalayan range was out of this world. The first picture shows the view we saw from Nagarkot. Sadly, though, Nepal's very very polluted. As nice as the people are, as scenic as the country is, the air pollution lessens the enjoyment, and the dirt and garbage all over the city just makes you sick. The shopping's still good... Jet setting family as we are, my parents were in Kolkata and Puri, India for a week before we set out for Nepal. They also had a lovely time. I think we would have enjoyed Nepal more if we weren't rushed for the package. Almost time for me to go back, and I REALLY don't want to...

but when will i get my own?!

So many kids in Dhaka right now! A number of my first cousins had kids roughly around the same time and most of them are here in Dhaka this December. Two Londoners…one’s almost 2 and a half, one’s almost 1…one 7-month old Torontonian…poor thing’s been sick since she arrived :(…and the third is a total jongli Dhakaite, almost 2 years old. But they all have one thing in common…they’re all very, very cute brown babies! So what if they’re all rather attached to their mum’s and dad’s and don’t want to come to you if you’re not a totally known face…they’ll all change once they’re in Dhaka long enough to see new people everyday. The only little one missing is the cutest baby in the world that I talked about in earlier entries…the blue-eyed Londoner that visited Toronto a few months ago. Watch how my kids are scary looking after all these adorable ones. If I ever end up having any.

i like bald guys

um, yeah. not balding guys, not men with combovers, not fat old bald men, but guys who shave their heads. this has nothing to do with the fact that my other half shaves his head, or that his flatmate and one of favourite ppl shaves his head, or that my favourite brother-in-law shaves his head...i just like bald guys. and at all the weddings i've been going to, i've been noticing the guys with their heads shaved first (the younger ones, mind u...not all the old men who are losing their hair) and then the cuter ones with hair...lol. and i'm thoroughly enjoying going round the wedding circuit...i forgot how much i missed deshi weddings. actually makes me want to get married asap!! to my dear ms./mr. anonymous-comment-leaver...is it, how do i know what a beel is or how do i know how big my bottom is? :) am i not supposed to know about the wetlands that i'm supposed to be doing a thesis on? and can i not see what my bottom looks like in the mirror? maybe i'm misunderstanding your question completely...? going to another reception tonight. invited specially by the groom this time. ;)
